My, Oh My.

I've been so busy, I didn't realize that I had neglected the blog a bit. So much so, that the blogs first birthday slipped by. I started it on June 30th 2004, so by way of a celebration here's the very first post I did....

A new blog is born
As I'm new to blogging, it may take me a while to set everything up, but I thought I'd give it a go mainly because I like to have a good moan about the little things in life that tend to get on the nerves a bit.
Not that I'm going to rant on and on, I don't want to turn people off. I have got a sense of humour somewhere!
Today's moan- Why do people still fly England flags from their cars when it's a week since we lost ?.............

Good wasn't it?

The reference to England flags was because the England football team had just crashed out of the European championships, and all through the competition everybody flew the cross of St George from their cars. It's funny, a year on and I still see the odd one about.

Meanwhile back at the Fred homestead, on Sunday the sun was cracking the pavements so we went to the seaside at Bridlington.
We sat scorching on the beach when I took this photo. You can see Flamborough Head in the distance with the white chalk cliffs. A bit like a Yorkshire version of the White Cliffs of Dover. (There's a song in there somewhere.)
Fish and Chips for lunch and fresh Whelks for tea plus a go on the fairground rides including getting soaked on the water plume. It was a brilliant fun day. The kids were shattered and went straight to sleep when we got home. And I must admit, I wasn't long behind them.

Monday was the little girls sports afternoon. In infants, the games are organized so that there are no winners in order not to upset the teenier and less robust kids. Just as long as they all get a go. Sack race, egg and spoon were a couple of delights of the afternoon, but yet again the sun was relentless and a lot of water was drunk by the little ones. One of them was in a race and carried on running to the toilet!

Tonight as been the lads school concert. He was singing in the choir. He had a bit of a starring role in one of the songs, singing the lead with a couple of girls. Right up his street that, the little womanizer.

How come I can't charm the girls like that?
